Fix it.

Sometimes you just can't go any further without fixing something.  Those times are easy to identify when you're floating in a Fiord.  You can't choose to face the problem later or you'll be on the rocks.  It can be easier to get down into the guts of the ship and root around to make it better when you know there's no choice.  Captain Pete aboard Southern Winds makes up with her two 1000 horsepower Mercedes diesel engines.  They're his "german girls."  You can't get sour with them.  Carry on like a man hard in love.
